These are actual letters written to me by students

I have edited them to remove any identifying information

Lori

“You have been a great inspiration to me and I’m sure to many others. The time and effort you have given me is very much appreciated. You’ll be the professor that I will talk about the rest of my life! If every professor cared about their students as much as you do, I think a lot more kids would attend college. I’m really going to miss our chatting sessions outside but I will never forget the tremendous amount of help you’ve given me! If it wasn’t for you I probably would have dropped this class! If you have ever dreamed of touching a student and giving them hope for the future, I can honestly tell you, your dreams are over because you have done this for me and I thank you more than words can say!”

Michael

“I cannot thank you enough for your support and encouragement over the past three years. You have continually pushed me to be my best, and have always helped to make me feel confident in my abilities.

I greatly appreciate the role you have played in my graduate experience. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my interactions with you, whether as a professor, supervisor, or mentor. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from you.

My time as your student … has defined my graduate career. It would not have been the same without you. Thank you for making it so enjoyable, and for always being there for me. You have, without a doubt, helped shape my future.”

Ali

“I want to thank you so much for everything you have done for me while I was attending the university. Not only do I have a much better understanding of computer science, but I also feel like I am better equipped to go into the real world and deal with day to day life.”

Diego

“I thank you for being such a caring and helpful professor and for all the talks that we had at your office (even for the non-school related ones)”

Sonia

“I enjoyed a lot learning from you. It was a good experience to learn a subject that I was feeling was too difficult. But your teaching made that subject easy for me.”
